LD-250 LIGHTNING DETECTOR
This page provides a WWW interface to a Boltek LD-250 Lightning Detector which is capable of detecting lightning strikes within a 300 mile (aprox 480km) radius. The detector is located in Queanbeyan, a NSW town near Canberra, Australia. A 480km radius, i believe, will cover the NSW coast close to Taree (and Tamworth), and down to Wilsons Promontory, and comes close to getting Melbourne, and Bendigo (it will easily get Sydney).
Lightning Strike Plotter
This is the new dynamically generated image version. This should work on any browser which will display PNG image files, which i believe is most of the browsers used today.
The demo versions are static images from a storm which hit Canberra on 11th December 2003 at 22:30 GMT and have been added to show what the images look like with lightning plotted on them (in case there isn't a storm nearby at the moment).
